Mount Tampa

Tâmpa    is a mountain, part of the  Postăvarul  Massif , located in the southern part of the  Eastern Carpathians  (alternatively categorized as in the  Curvature Carpathians ) and almost entirely surrounded by the city of  Braşov . Its elevation is 960 m (995 m according to some sources), almost 400 m above the city.   The mountain is mostly made up of  limestone  formations, having risen up gradually from the Earth's  crus t .   Most of the mountain (1.5 km²) is a declared  nature reserve , due to the rare animal species ( bears ,  birds ,  butterflies —35% of  Romanian  butterfly species) and plant species (a rare  Liverleaf  variety,  Transylvanian   Windgrass ) that are found there. The Citadel

Strategically overlooking the town and the plains to north, the citadel is part of Brasov's outer fortification system. In 1524 the first wooden defence walls were erected, replaced between 1554 and 1690 by the four massive stone bastions you see now. The citadel was abandoned in the 17th century, after technological innovations made cannons stronger than the building. The Citadel has in recent years hosted a restaurant, cafe and nightclub amongst other things, never fulfilling its real potential. It is, however, gorgeously lit at night, and there are splendid views if you care to walk all the way up. There are two ways to reach to the fortress, one is taking the pedestrian narrow path which is shorter but a bit adventurous and the second one is along the road of the cars which is longer but better and safer way. First Romanian School

Once upon a time was a Romanian school where young people first learn to become notaries, teachers and priests. The beginnings of the school could be somewhere in the XIth – XIIth centuries. A proof is a manual of 700 pages called “Omiliar” a book about virtues, a sign that above all, the school teaches you to be human. Certainly, the school existed there in 1399, because that year, Pope Boniface speaks “about followers (students) from Schei Braşov, who were taught by pseudo teachers”.    The Romanian School – built in 1495, reconstructed in 1760 During this story about books, teachers and students you will often hear the words, first manual, first printing the first Bible, the greatest writer and teacher, the only codex aureus, the first grammar, the first dictionary … a sign that what exists here it is UNIQUE or VERY RARE.
